Candles and Feng Shui
/Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese science and art form that began over 3,000 years ago. Feng translates to wind and shui meaning water. Chinese culture puts great emphasis on water and wind as healing components of nature. Good Feng Shui is associated with good health, good luck, longevity and peace. Understanding how items and elements are placed in ones home or office is said to impact the person positively or negatively. The purpose of Feng Shui is to create an environment where there is good energy or chi flowing in and out of the space constantly. The art of Feng Shui has two major components that guide how one should set up a space; the idea of yin and yang and the five elements. In this post we will look at the 5 elements; wood, fire, earth, metal and water.
These elements are each very important to have in your space in order to create harmony balance and the positive flow of chi. Ideally one would want all the elements represented so it is a constructive flow of each element giving and receiving to one another. So where do candles come in to play? I’m glad you asked. Candles encompass the fire element of Feng Shui. Fire is said to bring passion, success, and romance into one’s life. Think of the life giving force of the sun; it nourishes and sustains all life on Earth. It brings happiness, boldness and bright light hearted feeling. Fire brings warmth, relaxation and sensuality. You can bring the fire element into your space when you don’t feel as creative, when you’re feeling cold or lonely or when you feel weak. Lighting a candle will bring balance and charge the space with the properties of the fire element.
Light a candle today and bring creativity, passion, love, joy and success to your space by engaging the fire element & never let that spark die out!
May your path stay LIT!
